I have been a user of NixOS for three years now, and I find it insane that they still rely on github for PRs entirely. I understand that migration is an issue and that Github is available to many people and has a nice PR and CI/CD system, but for some of the more tangential projects (e.g. the wiki), I feel that NixOS could benefit from more decentralisation. Mailing lists are integrated with git, but it seems that according to the discussion (https://discourse.nixos.org/t/give-up-on-github/20058/17), the Nix people don't seem that keen on switching to a mailing list system or to a more open platform. I think the last comment in this thread really represents my view on the matter. I will keep on using NixOS, but I will do so hoping that they will start decentralising the ecosystem more even if they still keep nixpkgs on github in the meantime. I find it insane that they've had problems on the platform, yet they are slow to take action. Preston
